Main Streets and Downtowns

The Michigan State Housing Development Authority separated the Cool Cities and Michigan Main Street brands in 2008 in order to further build these similar, but separate approaches to community redevelopment. The Cool Cities name is Michigan-based and practiced, while the Michigan Main Street program subscribes to the Four Point Approach(tm) developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Main Street Center.
