Ypsilanti - July 26, 2004 Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth (DLEG) Director David C. Hollister visited 2004 Cool City Pilot Program Award Designee Ypsilantiand on Monday, July 26. City officials gave Director Hollister a tour of Ypsilanti's Cool Cities Pilot Project starting at the Riverside Arts Center. Director Hollister's department leads the Cool Cities initiative, which is designed to help foster the development of vibrant, attractive cities and urban centers as part of Governor Granholm's economic development plan for Michigan. Ypsilanti was selected as one of 20 Cool Cities pilot projects receiving catalyst grants of up to $100,000 and accessing more than $100 million in state grants, loans and other resources. |
